Sri Lanka, Dec. 29 -- Total revenue collected by Sri Lanka Customs reached a record Rs. 2,497 billion by last Friday (26), significantly exceeding all government financial targets for the year.
Customs Media Spokesperson Chandana Punchihewa stated that this figure represents an additional Rs. 260 billion beyond the revised expectations.
The Ministry of Finance initially set an annual revenue target of Rs. 2,115 billion, which was later increased to Rs. 2,231 billion last month.
The current earnings demonstrate a robust performance by the department in surpassing these mandatory benchmarks well before the year concludes.
