Sri Lanka, Feb. 20 -- Acting Minister of Health Prof. Channa Jayasumana stated that 500,000 doses of Oxford-Astrazeneca vaccine ordered from the Serum Institute of India in Pune, through the State Pharmaceutical Corporation will be delivered to Sri Lanka before next weekend.

He was speaking to the media after attending the handing over of an X-ray machine worth around Rs. 20 million to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital today.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka COVID vaccine drive using the Oxford-Astrazeneca vaccine, which began on 29 January, continues to target areas and groups at high risk of contracting the virus.
