Sri Lanka, June 22 -- The Sri Lanka Army has issued a special statement regarding false claims circulating on social media over the past few days.

The Army announced that reports alleging a fraudulent attempt to remove several officers from service for personal reasons, without presidential approval and using fabricated documents, are untrue.

The statement further noted that various parties are irresponsibly spreading misinformation on social media to achieve their narrow objectives.
