Sri Lanka, Jan. 23 -- Agricultural productivity and related environmental challenges took center stage during a discussion at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday, following a Memorandum of Understanding between China and Sri Lanka.

The meeting, chaired by Presidential Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, focused on a joint program to resolve systemic issues in the farming sector. According to the Presidential Media Division, officials explored utilizing Chinese technology and equipment to modernize local agriculture.

Discussions also covered strategies to minimize crop damage caused by wild animals and potential Chinese assistance for the restoration and cleaning of the Beira Lake.
