Sri Lanka, Dec. 14 -- The Police have announced that a special security programme has been implemented across the country in anticipation of the upcoming festive season.

Police Media Spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) F. U. Wootler, stated that a force of 2,500 police officers has been assigned to special duties for this operation.

The objective of this special security drive is to ensure the safety of the public and to control various issues that may arise during the festive period.
