Sri Lanka, July 2 -- The Cabinet has approved a proposal by the President to appoint a Special Presidential Investigation Committee to probe financial losses, alleged fraud, and irregularities at SriLankan Airlines and Airport and Aviation Services (Private) Limited.

The investigation, covering the period from 2010 to 2025, will be led by former Auditor General H. M. Gamini Wijesinghe.

According to the Cabinet paper, the aim is to identify structural issues and transform the airline into a more efficient, technology-driven, and economically viable entity.
