Sri Lanka, July 8 -- A special crime prevention operation was conducted yesterday (7), from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, covering the Negombo and Gampaha Police Divisions.

This operation was carried out under the guidance of the Acting Inspector General of Police.

A total of 764 officers participated in the operation, including personnel from the Police, Police Special Task Force (STF), Army, Air Force, and Navy.

During the operation, 75 individuals were arrested.

In the Kurana 20th Mile Post area within the Negombo Police Division, a suspect involved in drug trafficking was apprehended.
