Sri Lanka, March 20 -- A heavily addicted man has murdered his 68-year-old mother in Dematagoda after she refused to give him money to buy drugs.

The incident occurred at Arama Place, where the victim lived with her son and elder sister.

Police investigations revealed that the son, aged 46, was a drug addict, and frequent arguments had taken place between them.

The suspect has been arrested and remanded after being produced in court.
