Sri Lanka, April 24 -- The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has issued a clarification for the island-wide power outage which occurred on February 9.
The CEB was publicising the results of an investigation conducted by an independent Expert Committee, which is available on the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) website for public viewing.
The statement is reproduced below.
"The Expert Committee has confirmed that the primary reason for this blackout was low system stability, technically known as low "system inertia," caused by an exceptionally high contribution of solar photovoltaic (PV) power at the time.
