Sri Lanka, Dec. 4 -- Sri Lanka Telecom-MOBITEL has issued a public advisory urging residents in disaster-affected areas not to interfere with fibre and copper cables that may have fallen to the ground.
The company stressed that although these cables might appear damaged or inactive, they remain fully operational.
SLT-MOBITEL specifically requested the public not to remove, cut, or tamper with the fallen lines under any circumstances.
The advisory highlights that interfering with the infrastructure could disrupt essential communication services at a time when connectivity is critical for ongoing relief and recovery operations across the country.
