Sri Lanka, Feb. 18 -- Representatives of the Maha Janahanda organisation met with Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organiser and Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa today (18) with the aim of strengthening opposition unity.

The meeting took place at the SLPP main office located in Nelum Mawatha, Battaramulla.

Discussions focused on strengthening democracy, protecting the rule of law, ensuring the people's right to live, and other contemporary matters.

Former Minister Udaya Gammanpila stated after the discussion that during recent visits to the Maha Sangha, the clergy advised them to establish unity within the opposition.

Accordingly, a series of discussions started with all political parties to achieve this goal.
