Sri Lanka, Sept. 10 -- The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) party has announced its intention to bring a no-confidence motion against Parliament Speaker Jagath Wickremaratne.

The party's general secretary, MP Ranjith Madduma Bandara, stated that the Speaker's rejection of the no-confidence motion against the Deputy Minister of Defence was baseless.

He further said the motion will be brought against the Speaker for acting improperly and failing to protect the rights of the opposition.
