Sri Lanka, Jan. 30 -- Sujeeva Senasinghe, National Organiser of the Samagi Jana Sandhanaya, announced plans to organise a protest campaign urging the government and relevant authorities to expedite the long-delayed Provincial Council elections.
He intended to present this proposal to the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) parliamentary group meeting on Monday, February 2.
The MP emphasised that various measures would be taken both inside and outside Parliament to pressure the government into holding the elections.
He noted that Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa would soon lead discussions with opposition party leaders, as well as political parties and representatives not currently in Parliament, to coordinate these efforts.
