Sri Lanka, Nov. 3 -- The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) was able to secure a majority in the Kotapola Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society's regional election.

According to the results announced, 65 out of 100 total delegates were elected from the SJB-led Common Opposition.

Meanwhile, the National People's Power (NPP) secured only 25 delegates.

The Chairman of the Kotapola Pradeshiya Sabha representing the NPP, along with six of its members, and the Vice Chairman of the Pitabeddara Pradeshiya Sabha, contested this election, but all of them were defeated.
