Sri Lanka, Aug. 7 -- Six people, including the driver, were hospitalised today (7) after a van carrying a group of pilgrims overturned in the Galkulama area of Thirappane.

The incident occurred on the Kandy-Jaffna A9 road.

The van was transporting a group from Matugama who were on their way to a pilgrimage in Anuradhapura.

According to police, a technical fault caused one of the van's wheels to detach, leading the driver to lose control.

The van, which was carrying eight people at the time, then rolled over.

The six injured were taken to Anuradhapura Hospital for treatment, and their condition is not considered serious.
