Sri Lanka, Feb. 3 -- Police have arrested six suspects in connection with the triple murder that took place in the Mamadala area of Ambalantota yesterday afternoon (02).

The victims were attacked with sharp weapons by a group of six individuals. One of them succumbed to injuries while being taken to the Ambalantota Hospital, while the other two died after being admitted for treatment.

According to the police, all three victims suffered severe injuries to their necks and faces. The deceased, aged 29, 34, and 45, were residents of Mamadala.

Investigations suggest the murders may be linked to an illegal liquor racket.
