Sri Lanka, Dec. 26 -- Occasional showers are anticipated today in the Northern, Eastern, and Uva provinces, as well as the Polonnaruwa, Matale, and Nuwara Eliya districts.

According to the Department of Meteorology, showers or thundershowers are likely to develop in parts of the Sabaragamuwa province and the Galle, Matara, and Kalutara districts after 2:00 PM.

Certain areas may experience fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50mm.

Additionally, moderate winds reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h are expected periodically over the eastern slopes of the central hills, the Northern province, and the Hambantota and Monaragala districts.
