Sri Lanka, Dec. 24 -- Several spells of rain may occur today (24) in the Central, Uva, and Eastern provinces, as well as the Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu districts.
The Department of Meteorology issued a statement noting that scattered showers or thundershowers are also likely in parts of the Southern province and the Kalutara and Ratnapura districts after 2:00 p.m.
Heavy rain exceeding 50 mm is possible in certain areas within the Galle and Matara districts.
While the rest of the island remains mostly dry, misty conditions are expected during the early morning hours in parts of the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces, along with the Kalutara, Badulla, Galle, and Matara districts.
