Sri Lanka, May 5 -- The Department of Meteorology forecasts showers or thundershowers in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, and Southern provinces, as well as in the Ampara, Batticaloa, and Polonnaruwa districts, after 1 pm.

Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm is possible in localised areas.

Showers or thundershowers may also occur in a few other locations across the island during the afternoon or night.

Additionally, the Western province and the districts of Mannar, Puttalam, Galle, and Matara may experience showers in the morning.

Misty conditions are expected in parts of the Central and Uva provinces, and in the Ampara and Polonnaruwa districts during the morning hours.
