Sri Lanka, Dec. 30 -- Showers are expected at times in the Northern, Eastern, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Matale, Nuwara-Eliya, and Polonnaruwa districts. Certain locations within these areas may experience fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm.

Several spells of showers are forecast for the Kandy and Anuradhapura districts. Meanwhile, the Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces, along with the Kalutara district, may see showers or thundershowers at a few places after 2:00 p.m.
