Sri Lanka, Feb. 20 -- The shooter arrested for the murder of organized criminal Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne alias Ganemulla Sanjeewa has been handed over to the Colombo Crimes Division.

A senior officer stated that the suspect is expected to be produced in court, with authorities seeking a 72-hour detention order.

The 34-year-old suspect was arrested in the Palaviya area in Puttalam while planning to flee by sea. Investigations revealed he had used multiple identities and was also involved in a recent double homicide in Mount Lavinia's Watarappala area.
