Sri Lanka, Jan. 28 -- Shantha Padmakumara takes the helm as Chairman of the Ratnapura District Operations Committee for the National Operation Against Narcotic Drugs. Deputy Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, Sunil Watagala, announced the appointment today during the establishment of the committee at the Ratnapura District Secretariat.

This initiative functions as part of the "Ratama Ekata" (Country Together) national program, which aims to eradicate the drug menace through a structured network.
