Srilanka, Nov. 29 -- The Department of Irrigation states that there is a Severe flood risk for the areas situated in the lower valley of the Mahaweli River.

The Department advises that it is highly suitable for residents in the low-lying areas, including Dimbulagala, Thamankaduwa, Medirigiriya, Welikanda, Kinniya, Mutur, Lankapura, and Kantale, to evacuate immediately.
