Sri Lanka, April 19 -- Seven individuals believed to be close associates of an alleged organised criminal known as 'Kehelbaddara Padme' have been arrested by the Police Special Task Force (STF) in Gampaha.

Police said the suspects were allegedly preparing to carry out a targeted killing, including an attack on a group linked to 'Gampaha Osman'.

During the raid, STF officers seized two T-56 assault rifles, two magazines, and 105 bullets.

In addition, 15 mobile phones were also recovered from their possession.
