Sri Lanka, June 15 -- Sesame farmers in several areas of the Anuradhapura district are reporting severe economic hardship due to a significant drop in the market price for their produce.
Currently, a kilogramme of sesame is being sold for between Rs. 250 and Rs. 300, a price point that farmers claim is causing them substantial economic losses.
This situation is particularly challenging for farmers in regions like Anuradhapura, where sesame is a key crop.
