Sri Lanka, Dec. 23 -- The Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, Zhao Leji, arrives in the island today for a two-day official visit.

The visit focuses on observing the ongoing relief efforts and future programs designed to assist those affected by the recent disaster. Zhao Leji holds significant political standing in China, ranking as the third most powerful official in the government following the President and the Premier.
