Sri Lanka, Oct. 30 -- A group of council members from the Seethawaka Pradeshiya Sabha yesterday (29) urged relevant authorities to convene a council session to form the body, which has been without a leadership structure for over three months.
Opposition members, including Seethawaka Pradeshiya Sabha member Nalaka Bandara of the New People's Front, submitted a petition to the Election Commission, the Governor's Office, and the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government. The petition addressed the unresolved issue of electing the Chairman and Deputy Chairman for the Seethawaka Council.
