Srilanka, Nov. 20 -- The Bribery Commission (CIABOC) reports the arrest today (20) of a private sector security guard for allegedly soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000 on two occasions.
He was arrested for promising to secure employment for the complainant in the position of Bowser Vehicle Assistant at the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC).
The Bribery Commission states that the suspect obtained Rs. 40,000 from the complainant on the first occasion, and a further Rs. 10,000 subsequently, amounting to Rs. 50,000 in total.
The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.
