Sri Lanka, March 3 -- A van traveling from Eratta to Sayatkanda lost control and crashed into a tree in the Sayatkanda area of the Kuruwita Police Division, resulting in a serious accident.

At the time of the crash, 14 school children aged between 11 and 14 and a woman were in the van. The injured children and the van driver were admitted to the Eratta Rural Hospital for treatment.

Ten of the hospitalized children have been discharged after receiving treatment, while two boys, two girls, and the van driver have been transferred to Ratnapura Hospital for further care.

Kuruwita Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
