Sri Lanka, Feb. 24 -- A 17-year-old school student died yesterday (22) after a motorcycle skidded out of control and collided with a car at Thawalama Junction on the Thawalama-Akuressa road. Hiniduma Police state the motorcycle, travelling toward Akuressa, overturned in the middle of the road before hitting an oncoming vehicle.

The motorcyclist and a pillion rider sustained severe injuries and were initially admitted to Hiniduma Hospital before being transferred to Udugama Hospital for further treatment. The motorcyclist, a 17-year-old student from the Thalangalla area in Galle, died while undergoing care.
