Sri Lanka, Feb. 3 -- The hunger strike held by School Development Officers outside the Presidential Secretariat concluded today (3) after lasting nine days.
The Lanka School Development Officers' Association announced this decision following a special discussion with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, where the officers agreed to sit for the teaching service examination.
Development officers currently working in schools will be absorbed into the teaching service within six months, according to a promise made by the President during the meeting.
