Sri Lanka, Dec. 18 -- A Lankapura Pradeshiya Sabha member, Mohammadu Cassim Abdul Samad, representing the Sarvajana Balaye, has been remanded until December 29.

The order was issued after he was produced before the Polonnaruwa Magistrate's Court.

Pulasthipura Police arrested the councillor in connection with a death following a violent altercation in Polonnaruwa.
