Sri Lanka, May 26 -- The market continues to face a shortage of salt, despite recent imports.
Concurrently, the Marandagahamula rice market is experiencing a scarcity of Samba rice and Keeri Samba rice, according to the President of the Marandagahamula Rice Traders' Association, B.K. Ranjith.
He attributed this situation to the hoarding of stocks by some traders.
Meanwhile, the National Salt Company stated that salt stocks imported from India are currently being received in the island to address the salt shortage.
However, consumers allege that despite authorities' announcements of salt availability, the product remains absent from the market.
