Sri Lanka, Sept. 15 -- The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has issued a statement regarding the recently released Rs. 2,000 commemorative note for its 75th anniversary.
The bank stated that it is currently working with licensed commercial banks to calibrate their cash-handling machines to accommodate the new note.
According to the statement, the new note will be gradually introduced into circulation through these banks.
Once the calibration process is complete, the note will be fully integrated into the currency circulation through all banking channels.
The Central Bank also expressed its appreciation for the public's cooperation during this transition period.
