Sri Lanka, July 23 -- A risk of rockslides in the Uda Radella Estate has led to the temporary evacuation of 47 people from seven estate worker families today (23).
According to reports, the ongoing rains have caused several large rocks located above the estate houses to fall.
The threat of further rockslides remains high.
The estate management has taken steps to move the affected families to safer locations as a precautionary measure.
Authorities have also reported that a rock fell into a goat pen near the estate houses, resulting in the death of two goats.
