Sri Lanka, Sept. 8 -- A driver of a car was seriously injured and admitted to Badulla General Hospital following a road collision that occurred this afternoon (08) in front of the Yalabowa depot on the Wellawaya-Thanamalwila road.

According to Wellawaya Police, the incident happened when a car travelling from Galle to Buttala collided with a lorry transporting rice that was coming from Ampara.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that the incident was caused by the lorry driver's careless driving.

The driver of the lorry has been arrested by the police.
