Sri Lanka, Oct. 25 -- P.G. Dharmatilaka, a retired soldier from the Sri Lanka Army, arrived in the Norton Bridge town today (24) as part of his multi-day walk to the summit of Sri Pada during the off-season.
Dharmatilaka, who began his journey on the 22nd from the Sri Isipathanarama Viharaya in Thalathuoya, Kandy, aims to reach the Sri Pada summit on the morning of September 26.
His route covers a distance of 103 kilometres, passing through Thalathuoya Maha Wanguwa, Moragolla, Sriyagama, Galaha, Doluwa, Gampola, Nawalapitiya, Ginigathhena, Diyagala, Norton Bridge, and Maussakelle.
P.G. Dharmatilaka, who is 58 years old, retired after serving for 26 years in the Sri Lanka Army Artillery Regiment.
