Sri Lanka, Sept. 4 -- Police have launched an investigation into the disappearance of a retired Sub-Inspector of Police who went missing after leaving home for medical treatment.
The missing person has been identified as 60-year-old Ratnayaka Mudiyanselage Karunaratne, a resident of Udawela Road, Agalawatta, and a former officer of the Police Special Task Force (STF).
According to police, inquiries commenced following a complaint lodged by his wife on September 2.
She had reported that her husband left home on the morning of August 29 to seek treatment for a spinal ailment at a medical centre in Diyabeduma, Kandy, but had not returned since.
