Sri Lanka, July 22 -- Mapping Elephant corridors is not the solution to the human-elephant conflict.

This is the view of conservationist and researcher Supun Lahiru Prakash.

He said this against a backdrop where the government is planning to remap elephant corridors.

Speaking to Hiru News, Prakash said that most of the elephant home ranges in the country are outside the protected areas.

"We can't look at this remapping of elephant corridor alone. Better to look at this whole problem with the progress of the government during the recent past.
