Sri Lanka, Aug. 16 -- The remains of former State Minister Lohan Ratwatte have been brought to his residence in Mahaiyawa, Kandy.

The funeral will be held tomorrow (17), at the family burial grounds in Nittawela.

The 57-year-old former State Minister died yesterday morning (15) at a private hospital in Colombo.

He had been suffering from a severe liver condition for some time, and his condition worsened after he contracted pneumonia.

Ratwatte was a controversial political figure who was arrested and remanded on several occasions during his career.

He was the eldest son of the late General Anuruddha Ratwatte, a former Deputy Minister of Defence in the Chandrika Bandaranaike government.
