Sri Lanka, May 14 -- The police committee appointed to investigate the fatal incident involving a bus in the Garandiella area of Kotmale officially commenced its investigation yesterday (13) with a visit to the scene of the crash.

The committee, headed by Senior Deputy Inspector General Ajith Rohana, first inspected the accident site before proceeding to the Kotmale Police Station, where the bus involved in the tragedy is currently being examined.

Later, the officials also visited the Gampola Hospital to collect statements from the injured passengers, including the bus conductor.

Drivers are usually held responsible in cases such as this.

However, the driver of the bus involved in the incident had also succumbed.
