Sri Lanka, Aug. 29 -- The Public Security Minister, Ananda Wijepala, says that twenty out of the seventy-five organised and underworld criminals who had fled the country have been arrested and brought back to Sri Lanka.
Speaking to the media yesterday, he stated that Red Notices had been issued for these individuals, and that the authorities were working to bring the remaining fugitives back to face justice.
The Minister confirmed that six of these criminals, who were recently apprehended in Indonesia, are expected to be extradited to Sri Lanka within the next few days.
He said discussions with Indonesian authorities are underway to facilitate their repatriation.
