Sri Lanka, Aug. 17 -- Work is currently underway to re-rail the "Galu Kumari" express train, which derailed yesterday (16) near the Ginthota railway station, and continues to disrupt train services on the coastal line.
Train services have been limited to the Ambalangoda railway station.
Services scheduled to start from this morning (17) will now begin at the Dodanduwa, Hikkaduwa, Kahawa, and Ambalangoda stations, which are after the Ginthota station.
Trains from Beliatta are operating only up to the Galle railway station, where passengers can transfer to a bus to continue their journey past the derailment site and rejoin the train service at the next available station.
The train that derailed was on its way from Maradana to Beliatta....
