Sri Lanka, July 25 -- The Colombo High Court today (25) ordered that the case filed against former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka, his driver Dilum Thusitha Kumara, and the then OIC of the Welikada Police, Sudath Asmadala, be called for hearing on November 18.
The accused face charges of causing serious injuries to a young man in a road accident in the Rajagiriya area in 2016 and suppressing relevant evidence.
The case was called before Colombo High Court Judge Sujeewa Nissanka today.
The High Court Judge announced that the Supreme Court had dismissed an appeal filed by Patali Champika Ranawaka, which argued that the case could not be transferred and continued.
