Sri Lanka, Jan. 26 -- Rainy conditions will likely persist in the North, North-Central, East, North-Western, and Uva provinces, as well as the Matale and Nuwara Eliya districts, the Department of Meteorology announced. Other regions may experience scattered showers or thundershowers after 2:00 p.m.
Relatively heavy rainfall of approximately 50 mm is expected in parts of the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, along with the Galle and Matara districts. Additionally, gusty winds ranging between 30-40 km/h may occur periodically over the eastern slopes of the central hills, the North, North-Central, North-Western, and Eastern provinces, and the Matara, Hambantota, and Monaragala districts.
