Sri Lanka, April 21 -- A quazi judge has been apprehended by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption today for allegedly accepting a bribe of 200,000 Sri Lankan Rupees.

The bribe was reportedly solicited to expedite a divorce case pending at the Kandy Court Complex.

It is alleged that the payment was intended to ensure the swift preparation of all necessary documents and the issuance of the divorce decree and certificate by the Court of Appeals on April 19, 2025.

The suspect is set to be produced before the Kandy Magistrate's Court.
