Srilanka, Nov. 20 -- Creating a major landmark for female engineering in Sri Lanka, a rural girl from Ambalangoda, K. Purnima Anurangi, has emerged as the country's first female engineer qualified to service and fly Bell MI-17 helicopters at the Sri Lanka Air Force.
Born in 1997 to a small family of two, Anurangi completed her schooling at Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda, excelling in mathematics, and went on to pursue higher education in the subject.
Alongside her academic achievements, she actively participated in sports and demonstrated strong leadership qualities, which earned her the role of school prefect.
