Sri Lanka, Feb. 21 -- The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka says public consultations on a proposed electricity tariff revision by the Ceylon Electricity Board will begin on February 25.

Members of the public can submit views verbally or in writing until March 18 at sessions planned across all nine provinces.

After reviewing the feedback and other factors, the commission will decide on the proposed revision.

The CEB submitted its proposal on February 13, seeking a 13.56% tariff increase for the second quarter of 2026, from April 1 to June 30.

An earlier request for an 11.57% increase for the first quarter of 2026 was not approved.
