Sri Lanka, June 11 -- Anuradhapura Prison Superintendent Mohan Karunaratne, arrested in connection with the alleged release of a prisoner not on the presidential amnesty list, has been remanded until the day after tomorrow (13).

The order was issued today (11), after he was produced before Anuradhapura Chief Magistrate Nalaka Sanjeewa.

Our correspondent reports that although the Deputy Solicitor General requested a 14-day remand, the judge rejected it, opting for the shorter period.

Additionally, Superintendent Karunaratne has been ordered to be transferred from Anuradhapura Prison to Bogambara Prison.
