Sri Lanka, Jan. 21 -- Discussions regarding Sri Lanka's economic recovery took place yesterday (20) between Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva during an official visit to Switzerland.
The IMF's Asia-Pacific regional office released a statement noting that Georgieva expressed deep admiration for the resilience shown by Sri Lankans following the recent destruction caused by Cyclone 'Ditwah'. During the meeting, she reaffirmed the Fund's commitment to providing the full support necessary for the restoration of the country's economy. Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Finance Dr Anil Jayantha Fernando also participated in the session.
